why are you going to be her if you don’t even know this off the top of your head! all harry potter (book) fans know this!
in the books, hermione is said to have a giant poofy brown mess of hair. its not red, that’s the weasleys!
in the movies they try to add some sex appeal and her hair is only a wreck in th first 2 movies. then they let her grow up and tame her nest of waves.
to do this, you want to blow dry it with a diffuser, and then, while teasing it with a brush, add tons of hair spray. you might need a friend to help you with it if you dont have typically curly or poofy hair.

Her hair is long (past the shoulder) thick and wavy, and bangs, meduim brown

Yeah I agree that it’s odd you’re going to be her when you don’t know what she looks like haha but here is my info:
Younger Hermione (movies 1-2):
Thick brown hair with straight-across bangs; hair is a bit lower than shoulder-length. If your hair isn’t that poofy or curly, I would put it in french braids when it’s wet and keep it in overnight (or for a long period of time). Then add some hairspray and tease it once it’s dry.
Older Hermione (movies 3-6):
Her hair seems to change a bit with Prisoner of Azkaban being an in-between link her past style with the current. She now has thick hair but it’s more curly than poofy. I would suggest the same thing with the braids but maybe not as much teasing (it’s more defined than poofed). Maybe some texturizer would help if you scrunch it in. It is more blonde in the later movies, I would go to mugglenet.com to view their gallery with Harry Potter pictures to see for yourself. She tends to pin back one side of he hair more in the later movies, whereas she didn’t use anything in her hair much in the earlier ones except for maybe a headband.
The earlier movies are more of what is visualized in the books, but you can do either way and people will know you’re Hermione haha at least if you have the right outfit. If you need more details let me know, I just wanted to get you started. Good luck!
